PSAT/NMSQT
The PSAT/NMSQT for sophomores and juniors will be given on the morning of Tuesday, October 25th. This will be an excused absence for the first half of school. This is an OPTIONAL TEST and costs $20.00.
For juniors, it is a practice test for the SAT and the NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFYING TEST. Millions of dollars in scholarship money will be given out across the nation to students who qualify as National Merit Scholars. For sophomores, it is a practice test for the SAT and the National Merit Scholarship Test.
Students choosing to take the test should pay $20.00 in the main office and take their receipt to the counseling center where they will receive a PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide which includes a PSAT/NMSQT Practice Test. We strongly encourage students to spend some time on this practice test. It is excellent preparation for the test.
This is a school supported and school excused test. There are a limited number of tests available. When they are all sold, the opportunity to test is gone. Please sign up in the counseling center by Tuesday, October 18th. If you have any questions, please call Mr. Hall at 801-402-8829.
