THE DHS CANNED FOOD DRIVE!
The DHS CANNED FOOD DRIVE begins this week and runs until November 15th.  The competition will be between advisories.  Turn in your cans to your advisory teacher.   The three advisories that bring in the most cans will receive the Silver Can Goodwill Trophy and a fantastic treat.  Best of all, if the we meet our school wide goal of 15,000 cans, we will all get an extra long lunch the day before Thanksgiving break!  Remember these food items are going to the Mountain High School Food pantry where bags of food with recipes are put together for students who go home and make their own dinner.  This is a great cause.  There are over 2,000 of us here, if we each bring in 8 food items we will meet this goal!

Utah College Application Week

Monday 11/12 and Tuesday 11/13 college representatives and counselors will be here to help seniors fill out college applications in Lab 1101. Ask to be excused from class at a convenient time prepared to fill out an application and pay for it online. Some colleges are waiving the application fees if you fill out your application at school this week.
Those waiving fees are Snow College, SUU, Dixie State, Westminster and a partial waiver at Utah Valley University.
Wednesday 11/14 there will be tutorial information sessions on college essay writing and scholarships.
Finally, we will hold a FAFSA night on Thursday, November 15 from 4-7pm to help students and parents as you apply for Federal Financial Aid. If you are a senior student needing extra support in understanding how to apply for college, please see your counselor and/or come down to the lab during Utah College Application Week to get your questions answered.
Watch for an informational flyer in your Language Arts classes and emails about what to bring to fill out applications and the FAFSA. Wear your favorite college apparel that week and get those applications filled out!
