College Application Week
The Davis High Counseling Team is hosting Utah College Application Week October 5th-8th. We will have in person and online options for seniors to begin college applications. Students will receive an invitation in their school email next week to reserve a seat in our computer lab for an hour slot on either Monday, October 5th or Tuesday, October 6th. We encourage students to sign up for a seat on their online day if possible so as not to miss in class time with teachers. Please bring your own school laptop with you that day.
We will also be sending out a google form on October 2nd with valuable information about college applications, transcripts, FAFSA and scholarships to parents and students. Students may click on the active links to make their way to university websites and applications from home. Some colleges offer free applications during this week for our students, more information about fee waivers will be available on the google form.
As part of this week, we will be holding a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Night on Thursday, October 8 from 4pm-7pm for families of seniors. We will also have links on the google form we send out for parents and students to file the FAFSA from home with online supports. In order for seniors to take advantage of grants, work-study programs, scholarships, and loans for college associated with the FAFSA, a senior student and a parent must complete the FAFSA online application. Awards are based on your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC), which is tied to more than just your income level..
