This week we have Mr. Atkinson and Mrs. Ashton.
Mr. Atkinson is one of our administrators. He teaches "discipline all day", this is his final decision, he loves all the Cubs (and bears), his best advice is to just roll with it!
Mrs. Ashton is an administrator. She is an assistant principal, this is her 26th year in education, she loves dolphins, her best advice is to be kind.

We loved welcoming so many future students and families to our 7th Grade Course Selection Night!
It was such a fun evening filled with excitement, questions, and lots of great conversations about the upcoming school year. Students had the chance to explore programs, meet teachers, and start thinking about all the opportunities waiting for them in their very first year of junior high.
There is something really special about seeing that mix of nerves and excitement as students begin this next chapter. We are so grateful to the families who came out to learn more and support their students.

America is turning 250 — and our students have something to say.
Davis School District is hosting Voices of a Nation: Student Perspectives on 250 Years of America, a districtwide speaking event aligned with America 250 Utah.
Students from every school and grade level are invited to apply to deliver an original speech about America’s past, present or future.
Selected students will receive mentorship and take the stage on May 4, 2026, at the Davis Instructional Services Center in Layton. The event will be professionally produced and live streamed for the community.
You don’t have to be famous to have something worth saying.
Take the mic. Share your idea. Be part of the story.

We loved having Becca Lee Gardner at Central Davis! She led a Creative Writing workshop in the library, sharing her knowledge and experience with our students.
Students had the opportunity to ask questions, learn about the writing process, and even receive feedback on their own work. It was such a valuable and inspiring experience for our young writers!

Last Friday we celebrated SRO Appreciation Day and recognized our amazing School Resource Officer! Our office staff had so much fun decorating his office to show how much we appreciate everything he does to keep our school safe and support our students and staff.
