Thank you to our Sam Morgan Elementary Student Council and Jr. Hope Squad for putting out our flags in Remembrance of September 11th. Their group leaders, our Administrative Intern Mrs. Ewell, and our Facilities Manager Lucas Wangsgaard helped students as they put out flags and led a group discussion on the significance of this day. Teachers were asked to share a message with their class about the meaning behind September 11th as well. We at Morgan Elementary honor the lives of those who were lost, those who sacrificed their lives for others, and stand United in the hope for a future of Peace.

For over 50 years, the National PTA has directed the Reflections Program, providing opportunities for students to express themselves and gain confidence through the arts. Each year over 300,000 entries are submitted nationally.

Morgan Families, Picture Day is coming up on Wednesday, September 10th! Order forms were sent home and there is a copy attached. We can't wait to see all our students showing their best smile!

Hello Morgan Elementary Parents and Families!

We are preparing for Morgan Elementary's Fall Festival and are looking for volunteers! The Fall Festival will be held on Monday, September 15th from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

There are set up, takedown, and game/food attendant slots. There are two volunteer sessions during the course of the festival- if you are able to sign up for both sessions, that's great! If not, you can sign up for one session and enjoy the festival activities with your child for the other hour.
Volunteers will be provided with a wristband (10 tickets) for your child to use at the fall festival!

Sam Morgan Elementary First Day of School Information
1st - 6th Graders first day of school is on Monday, August 18th, and will be an early out at 1:30pm with regular dismissal Tuesday - Thursday at 3:30pm.
Kindergarteners first day of school is on Wednesday, August 20th, and they will have early out of 1:30pm on Wednesday, and Thursday.
Every Friday is early out for all students at 1:30pm.
Make sure to join us for our Back to School Night, Thursday, August 14th from 4-6pm!

Morgan Elementary Kindergarten Parents:
Please complete the required parent questionnaire before your child's Kindergarten Assessment Appointment. Appointments must be made on myDSD.davis.k12.ut.us, the assessments are next Monday - Wednesday.

Davis School District requires Kindergarten Screeners to be conducted before school starts, this is crucial for class placement. Please see the attached flyer with the screening information and the QR Code for scheduling your child's appointment. Morgan Families, tomorrow is our last day of school, early out at 1:30pm, don't forget. We still have lost items to be collected from field day, and class pictures and yearbooks for sale in the office. Happy last day of school tomorrow!

We are looking at next year's class placements and numbers. Please email the office at morganeloffice@dsdmail.net if you are planning to move or will be changing program enrollment (French to English) now so that we can plan accordingly. This will help us with determining class sizes and teacher placement. Thank you!

Sam Morgan Elementary Jr. Hope Squad delivered the cereal to Mountain High Teen Center today from our Cereal Drive. Thank you to all who donated!

Yearbooks are for sale on myDSD this week 4/16 - 4/18 for $18 each. Please make separate purchases for each student. Starting on 4/21 the price for yearbooks will go up to $25 a piece. Get them at the discount price! You can go onto your myDSD history of payments to see if you purchased a yearbook already.
